EHT Technologies

EHT Technologies was founded in 2015 based on research conducted at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf on human-induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSC). Cardiomyocytes derived from hiPSC represent an innovative research technology for cardiac drug development programs. Engineered heart tissue consists of three-dimensional muscle constructs based on hydrogels, which can be generated from isolated cardiac cells of chickens, rats, mice, human embryonic stem cells, and hiPSC. Proof-of-concept studies have shown that EHT can be effectively transduced using adeno-associated virus (AAV) vectors, including AAV9, validating the platform's application in gene therapy.
