Spotlight Therapeutics is an early-stage biotechnology company backed by venture capital, with the mission of developing novel therapies through in vivo gene editing. Founded in December 2017 by Alex Marson (UCSF), Jacob Corn (UC Berkeley), and Patrick Hsu (Salk Institute), Spotlight is currently building its core technology platform to enable precise in vivo gene editing within target cell populations. Our engineered nucleases focus on oncology, editing genes in target disease organs to inactivate or modify gene products. We are rapidly expanding our team to build a cutting-edge R&D group responsible for preclinical development spanning protein engineering, gene editing, immuno-oncology, and in vivo safety studies.
