Solos Endoscopy, Inc. was founded in 1986 and emerged as a pioneer in the video imaging market during the rise of minimally invasive surgery in the early 1990s. The company's early work in laparoscopic endoscopy established Solos as a market leader during this period. During this time, Bircher Medical Systems acquired Solos in one of the largest endoscope deals at that time.In the early 2000s, Solos Endoscopy, Inc. re-entered the medical digital imaging market with its stick (COAST) endoscopic chip and one of the first digital integrated video systems (DIS2000) for recording and archiving endoscopic images, becoming an industry pioneer once again. Through a merger/acquisition with ViaDux Health in 2006, Solos Endoscopy became a publicly traded company (OTCPK: SNDY). In the second half of that year, Solos launched its MammoView™ endoscope series for breast cancer detection.
