Myricx Pharma (“Myricx”) is a small-molecule drug discovery company focused on developing novel, proprietary inhibitors of human N-myristoyltransferase (NMT), primarily concentrating on oncology while also exploring potential applications in viral and other diseases. The research team discovered that the inhibition of NMT, an enzyme involved in the myristoylation of certain proteins, leads to the death of specific cancer cells through an unexpected and unique mechanism. This breakthrough finding demonstrates that NMT inhibitors have proven highly effective in treating MYC-driven cancer models, which were previously considered undruggable. Myricx is currently prioritizing the development of potent small-molecule inhibitors with the aim of establishing a proprietary pipeline for targeted cancer therapies.
