Allegheny Health Network brings together the brightest healthcare professionals in western Pennsylvania and beyond, providing patients with a high-quality, innovative, and cost-effective healthcare system that offers comprehensive medical care across all disciplines. A patient-centered approach to care means greater focus on coordinated health and disease prevention for individuals, while maintaining accountability and responsiveness throughout the patient's journey. At Allegheny Health Network, our motivation is to lead people toward better health within the communities we serve.As the home of Allegheny General Hospital, a major academic medical center, Allegheny Health Network is committed to training the next generation of healthcare professionals by offering 46 graduate medical programs, affiliations with two medical schools, and two nursing schools. Allegheny General Hospital and West Penn Hospital serve as clinical campuses for Drexel University and Temple University’s medical schools, respectively. Currently, nearly 280 students are enrolled in nursing programs at West Penn Hospital and Citizens School of Nursing in Natrona Heights.Their network also includes a variety of robust medical research initiatives. The Allegheny-Singer Research Institute initiates and coordinates interdisciplinary programs aimed at better understanding and preventing human diseases, as well as researching novel treatments for cancer, trauma and burns, cardiovascular disease, neurological disorders, allergies, asthma, immune disorders, diabetes, and more.
