DivvyDose was founded by a second-generation doctor who felt frustrated because most chronic diseases can be controlled with medication—as long as it is taken at the correct dosage and time. However, medication adherence rates drop sharply over time, especially when treatment regimens become more complex (e.g., more prescriptions, more pills, more dosing times). Their founder recognized that healthcare professionals are not immune to this issue in their own practices. The low adherence statistics are due to the poor design of the currently prevalent systems. To address this problem, divvyDOSE utilizes human-centered design, innovation, and technology.
