Basic Information
Greenwich LifeSciences, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company based in Houston, Texas, is developing GP2 (a novel peptide immunotherapy) and plans to initiate Phase III clinical trials. GP2 is derived from the HER2/neu protein, which is expressed in various common cancers, including breast cancer. Tumors with elevated HER2/neu protein expression are highly aggressive, leading to increased disease recurrence and poorer prognosis. In the recently completed HER2/neu 3+ adjuvant setting Phase IIb clinical trial, no breast cancer recurrence was observed after a median follow-up of 5 years among patients who achieved complete immunity. Additionally, GP2 demonstrated good treatment tolerance, with no serious adverse events related to GP2 immunotherapy reported.
