MSBase

MSBase is a unique international cooperative organization dedicated to sharing, tracking, and evaluating outcome data for multiple sclerosis (MS) and other neuroimmunological diseases (NID).MSBase has collaborated with participating MS physicians and their healthcare teams to establish the largest organized repository of longitudinal "real-world" MS patient data. The registry, which began in 2004, has collected over 52,000 patient records from 33 participating countries.This collaboration aims to better understand MS and improve healthcare for MS patients by addressing epidemiological questions that can only be resolved through the prospective evaluation of thousands of patient records. MSBase facilitates the collection of epidemiological information by providing an electronic data entry system. The data entry system software is available for patient tracking and record management in clinical practice and is provided free of charge to members, who in turn support collaborative research initiatives.The MSBase Registry is owned and operated by MSBase Foundation Ltd, a non-profit company registered in Australia. The foundation is governed by a global board that advises and supports the work of the secretariat. The MSBase Scientific Leadership Group (SLG) specifically provides scientific guidance to the foundation regarding the registry. The operations team, responsible for the maintenance and management of the registry, is based in Melbourne, Australia.
