MYR Pharmaceuticals is a German biotechnology company dedicated to developing and commercializing therapies for chronic Hepatitis B (HBV) and Hepatitis D (HDV) infections. The company's leading compound, Bulevirtide (formerly known as Myrcludex B), is a first-in-class entry inhibitor for the treatment of chronic HBV and HDV, currently in Phase 3 studies for chronic HDV indication. This drug candidate has received Orphan Drug Designation from the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of HDV infection. Additionally, the EMA has granted Priority Medicines (PRIME) scheme eligibility, while the FDA has awarded Breakthrough Therapy Designation. Recently, the UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) granted MYR’s leading compound Bulevirtide the Promising Innovative Medicine (PIM) designation.
