Biocomo Co., Ltd. is a drug discovery company collaborating with Professor Tetsuya Nosaka of the Graduate School of Medicine at Mie University, specializing in infectious disease control medicine and molecular genetics, to research and develop new vaccines. In partnership with the Nosaka Laboratory, Biocomo has successfully constructed a novel vaccine vector with characteristics distinct from existing vaccines. Specifically, it employs a technology using recombinant human parainfluenza virus type 2 (hPIV2) as a vector. Biocomo Co., Ltd. has eliminated the risk of communicable diseases associated with live vaccines while retaining their high immunogenicity and enabling the effective introduction of large protein/peptide antigens, which are challenging to achieve with conventional vaccine technologies. To create vaccines with these two features, Biocomo Co., Ltd. has focused on hPIV2 and has been continuously engaged in its research and development.
