AxoProtego Therapeutics, LLC is dedicated to serving individuals worldwide who suffer from or are at risk of "peripheral neuropathy," a type of nerve damage that causes weakness, numbness, pain, or tingling, often in the hands or feet. There are many causes of peripheral neuropathy. Our initial focus is on chemotherapy-induced neuropathy, also known as chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN). We are committed to discovering, developing, and commercializing novel small-molecule therapies to protect neurons from degeneration, thereby preventing neuropathy from ever occurring. Our team is currently testing a new compound called EQ-6, initially aimed at preventing peripheral neuropathy in ovarian cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Importantly, AxoProtego's therapies differ from current standards of care because they protect neurons and prevent damage before neuropathy develops. Our therapies can enable patients to complete their recommended chemotherapy regimens without the frequent need to stop or reduce doses when CIPN occurs.
