Carmine Therapeutics, Inc. was founded in 2019 as a U.S.-based startup. Carmine's core technology focuses on delivery systems using RBCEV (red blood cell extracellular vesicles) as carriers. Carmine has built its own REGENTTM technology platform using RBCEVs as drug carriers. Based on the characteristics of RBCEVs, the REGENT platform also offers four key advantages: safety and efficacy, cost control, pre-preparation, and multi-organ targeting. The RBCEVs they have chosen address nearly all the issues encountered by current carriers used in drug delivery. In terms of future pipeline development, Carmine will primarily focus on the research and development of drugs for rare diseases. This choice is mainly due to Carmine’s current emphasis on advancing its products in the U.S., where the regulatory approval process for rare disease drugs allows Carmine's products to reach clinical trials more quickly.
