Elgia Therapeutics is a newly established, venture-backed biotechnology company dedicated to developing novel approaches for treating chronic inflammatory and fibrotic diseases. Founded by UCSD and UCSF scientists Alan Saltiel, Ariel Feldstein, Michael Karin, Michelle Arkin, and Adam Renslo—global leaders in the fields of innate immunity, inflammation, wound healing biology, and key biochemistry and pharmacology related to enzymes controlling inflammation and cell death—Elgia will leverage its founders' expertise to discover and develop novel inhibitors of these targets through high-throughput chemical screening combined with structure-based design.
