Pokémon is a media franchise centered on fictional creatures known as "Pokémon," which humans capture and train to battle each other for sport. The franchise now encompasses video games, trading card games, animated television shows and movies, comic books, and toys. Pokémon is the second most successful and lucrative video game-based media franchise in the world, surpassed only by Nintendo's Mario series. The company recently developed Pokémon Sleep to monitor players' sleep and behavioral data.
