Applied Molecular Therapeutics (AMT) is a privately-held biopharmaceutical company based in South San Francisco, California, focused on developing novel oral biologic therapies for the treatment of severe autoimmune, metabolic, and inflammatory diseases.AMT is leveraging its proprietary technology platform to create gastrointestinal (GI)-selective therapies that utilize naturally occurring transport and targeting mechanisms to cross the intestinal epithelial (IE) protective barrier. Once past the IE, the therapy gains privileged access to the immune cell-rich environment of GI tissues, as well as the hepatic portal system and downstream systemic circulation. AMT aims to develop entirely new oral therapeutic options that offer patients improved efficacy and tolerability compared to existing treatments.
