Zhejiang University Institute of Technology Innovation Co., Ltd. / Hangzhou Industrial Technology Research Institute was established under the overall planning and strong support of the Zhejiang Provincial and Hangzhou Municipal Governments. It was approved by Zhejiang University through the reporting to the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance, leading a collaboration with Zhejiang Financial Development Co., Ltd., Hangzhou High-tech Investment Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Communications Investment Group, Beijing Shenwu Environmental Technology Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Rongsheng Holding Group, Xizi United Holding, Conba Group, Xinhecheng Holdings Group, Zhejiang University Network New Group, Jinsha River United Venture Capital, Yangtze River Capital, and other outstanding state-owned enterprises, powerful private enterprises, and financial investment institutions to jointly form a state-controlled mixed-ownership enterprise. On September 29, 2012, it was officially registered in Xihu District with a cash capital of 500 million RMB.Under the leadership of the shareholders' meeting and the board of directors, ZJUITI implements a general manager responsibility system. Relying on Zhejiang University's strong research capabilities, abundant scientific achievements, and talent advantages, it strives to break through boundary barriers among government, industry, academia, research, application, and finance. By integrating innovation elements such as technology, talent, capital, information, and market, and being market-oriented, it is committed to driving the industrialization of high-quality high-tech achievements mainly from Zhejiang University through the fusion of innovation chains, industry chains, and capital chains.Currently, based on the development of strategic emerging industries in Zhejiang Province and Hangzhou City, and in line with Zhejiang University’s "Double First-Class" construction development plan, ZJUITI focuses on fields such as next-generation information technology, healthcare and wellness, civil-military integration (smart manufacturing/new materials), aiming to cultivate a group of influential high-tech companies. It aims to become the source of high-tech industries in Hangzhou and Zhejiang Province and an incubation base for high-tech companies, contributing to the industrial upgrading, transformation of economic development methods, and economic construction in Zhejiang Province and Hangzhou City, striving to be a distinctive nurturer of high-tech companies.
