Piranha Medical, LLC was founded in 2018 and is committed to addressing over 40,000 cases of food impaction occurring annually in the United States and globally. Its device, Piranha GI, connects to the suction system in treatment rooms, utilizing pressure through the core of the food impaction to extract the food from the patient via a catheter. The surface area of the impaction is reduced, allowing it to pass normally through the esophagus.
