Quantum-SI Focuses on the R&D and Production of Third-Generation Gene Sequencers. Third-generation sequencing offers advantages such as long read lengths, high accuracy, and low cost, with the potential to reduce whole genome sequencing to a level of 100 US dollars. The founder of the company, Mr. Jonathan Rothberg, has established two gene sequencer companies, 454 and Ion Torrent, which were acquired by Roche and Life Technology respectively. In late 2015, Mr. Rothberg received the National Medal of Technology and Innovation awarded by President Obama. Quantum-SI's third-generation gene sequencer has completed the initial R&D phase and is about to enter production. Its performance will comprehensively surpass the existing third-generation sequencers from Nanopore and Pacific Biosciences, offering strong competitive advantages.
