Basic Information
Pneumagen, founded in 2016, is a spin-off company from the University of St Andrews in Scotland, possessing world-class expertise and capabilities in glycobiology. They focus on developing carbohydrate-binding modules (CBMs) targeting sugars as novel universal therapeutics for respiratory tract infections (RTIs) and cancer. By leveraging their platform technology, GlycoTarge, to produce CBMs, they aim to use engineered mCBMs as a new therapeutic approach for the prevention and treatment of RTIs. These engineered mCBMs achieve the goal of preventing and treating RTIs by binding to glycan receptors on the surface of epithelial cells in the respiratory tract.
