PeriphaGen is a biopharmaceutical company with the goal of developing first-class neuronal gene delivery products for neurological disorders with unmet medical needs. An intuitive approach to treating diseases that directly affect neurons is to target the neurons themselves for treatment. PeriphaGen's initial areas of interest include neuropathic pain, neuropathy, and neuronal regeneration. After simple intradermal application, drug candidates based on PeriphaGen’s NEuronal Therapeutics (NET) platform have the ability to directly express therapeutic proteins, particularly in neurons, for a duration of four to eight weeks. NET products can locally express native gene products that block pain signaling, protect neurons from damage, or promote neuronal regeneration without systemic side effects.
