MyHealthMyData (MHMD) is a 2020 Horizon research and innovation action aimed at fundamentally transforming the way sensitive data is shared. MHMD is set to become the first open biomedical information network centered on the connection between organizations and individuals, encouraging hospitals to begin providing anonymized data for open research while empowering citizens to become the ultimate owners and controllers of their health data. MHMD aims to create a genuine information marketplace based on new trust mechanisms and direct, value-based relationships between EU citizens, hospitals, research centers, and enterprises.
