Recently, Trulive's Paflash® Thrombectomy System successfully treated an 80-year-old patient with acute pulmonary embolism. The patient had experienced shortness of breath for four days without obvious cause, and the symptoms worsened over time. The patient was taken to the hospital by family members. After a thorough examination, the diagnosis was "pulmonary embolism and lung infection." Symptomatic treatments such as anti-infection were administered but showed little effect. For further diagnosis and treatment, the patient was admitted to the hospital. Following the use of the Paflash® Thrombectomy System for thrombus aspiration, the patient’s symptoms significantly improved, and the surgery was successful.

Surgical Procedure and Outcome
The surgical team performed interventional surgery on the patient. During the procedure, a guidewire-directed catheter reached the pulmonary artery, followed by bilateral pulmonary angiography. The diameter of the blood vessel in the right lower lobe was measured at 2.51mm. After confirming the location of the thrombus, aspiration was performed four times over a period of 10 minutes, extracting a large amount of red thrombus. Post-treatment angiography showed significant improvement in the filling defect of the main trunk of the right pulmonary artery, with better perfusion in the distal segments. The diameter of the blood vessel in the right lower lobe was remeasured at 14.1mm. The surgery proceeded smoothly, with an immediate and notable decrease in pulmonary artery pressure and a significant increase in the patient's oxygen saturation.
