Shanghai-based Innovative Medical Device Company NeuViva Medical Selected as 2024 Shanghai Municipal Patent Demonstration Enterprise

The Pilot Demonstration Unit for Patent Work in Shanghai is a key project of intellectual property in Shanghai, emphasizing "patent quality" and "patent utilization" as its guiding principles. It aims to boost the high-quality development of Shanghai's intellectual property work from four aspects: accelerating project cultivation efficiency, adjusting project implementation methods, optimizing project evaluation indicators, and leveraging the guiding role of projects. This selection not only represents high recognition of our work in the field of intellectual property but also injects strong momentum into the future development of the company.

Since its first selection as a pilot enterprise for patent work in Shanghai in 2021, NewMed has been continuously strengthening its efforts on the path of innovation and development in intellectual property, actively implementing its intellectual property strategy. To date, the total number of patent applications by the NewMed Group has reached 477, including 236 invention patents. These patents reflect the company’s comprehensive strength and innovation capabilities in research and development, laying a solid foundation for future product development and market expansion, and marking NewMed's leading position in the industry.

On the path of enterprise development, NewMed places high importance on intellectual property (IP) management, always prioritizing IP protection as a key element in its growth strategy. The company obtained certification for its IP management system in 2017. A robust IP management system, along with a comprehensive incentive program, continuously stimulates the company’s innovative capabilities and empowers high-quality enterprise growth. Four of the company's products under development have been recognized by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) as innovative medical devices eligible for special review. Among them, the Prizvalve Transcatheter Aortic Valve System, independently developed by NewMed, has successfully received approval from the NMPA for marketing this year, becoming the first domestically produced balloon-expandable valve to be launched in China.
