AstraZeneca Appoints Arm CEO Rene Haas as Non-Executive Director

Gelonghui December 18 | On December 17, AstraZeneca announced the appointment of Rene Haas, CEO of semiconductor company Arm, as a non-executive director of AstraZeneca, as part of a board restructuring. Haas will officially join the company's board on January 1, 2025, becoming the first semiconductor industry executive to join AstraZeneca. AstraZeneca Chairman Michel Demaré stated that Haas has extensive and in-depth knowledge of technologies such as data science, computing, and artificial intelligence, thanks to his years of experience in the microprocessor, semiconductor, and software engineering industries. Another newly appointed non-executive director is Birgit Conix, CFO of Swiss hearing healthcare company Sonova, who will join the AstraZeneca board on February 1 next year.
