On December 16, XtalPi and Microsoft China announced the signing of a strategic cooperation memorandum, aiming to leverage cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), large models, and robotic laboratories to explore innovative applications of these technologies in the fields of biomedicine and materials science, opening a new chapter in research, education, and innovative applications.
In this collaboration, XtalPi will leverage the expertise of its AI for Science R&D platform and the extensive multimodal datasets accumulated by its robotic laboratories, combined with Microsoft's large language model (LLM) capabilities, including Azure OpenAI and its high-performance cloud computing platform. The partnership aims to explore vertical large models in the field of new drug or novel material development, with case studies developed in the area of novel material design to empower the R&D of sustainable, environmentally friendly, and highly energy-efficient new materials.
The common goal of both parties is to demonstrate how the next generation of computing and automation tools can accelerate innovation in chemistry and materials science, rapidly generate and validate AI-generated molecules that meet necessary property and functionality standards, and quickly translate research breakthroughs into competitive products.
XtalPi will also explore deploying its proprietary AI-driven molecular generation and molecular dynamics computation tools on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform to further provide robust computational support, enabling these precise and efficient intelligent algorithm tools to efficiently serve a broader range of enterprises and scientific research, driving scientific innovation on a larger scale, and continuously advancing the iterative upgrade of XtalPi's algorithms.
In addition, the two parties will explore potential cooperation in the field of educational academia, promote the introduction of experimental solutions combining advanced AI and automation technology in academic education research, and advance the digital upgrade of universities and research institution laboratories empowered by next-generation AI and robotics technology.
