The "Hong Kong Corporate Governance and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Excellence Award" is jointly organized by the Hong Kong Listed Companies Association and the Centre for Corporate Governance and Financial Policy at Hong Kong Baptist University. It has been awarded annually since 2007, aiming to promote the highest standards of corporate governance, ESG, business ethics, and board leadership in Hong Kong; recognize companies with outstanding governance; publicize best practices and achievements, thereby fostering the long-term development of a corporate governance culture.
In 2024, the number of Hong Kong-listed companies participating in the awards competition reached a record high, showcasing outstanding firms from various industries. These include traditional sectors such as real estate, financial services, and manufacturing, as well as emerging industries like artificial intelligence, social media, and advanced technologies. After two rounds of rigorous and meticulous selection processes conducted by an expert review panel and the awards committee, only 28 listed companies made the final cut. These winners include industry leaders such as China Life, Lenovo Group, Budweiser APAC, and CR Pharmaceutical.
