December 30th, Huadong Medicine's wholly-owned subsidiary, ZHONGMEI Huadong, reached a strategic cooperation with Synerk. Both parties will jointly developTargeting Angiotensinogen（AGT）Small nucleic acid（siRNA）Candidate Drug SNK-2726，For the treatment of hypertension. This is following the collaboration withFollowing the collaboration with SANEGENEBIO, this is Huadong Medicine's second partnership in the siRNA field.

Synerk is a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing RNA-targeted therapies. SNK-2726 is a product developed by Synerk.A Subcutaneously Injectable RNAi Drug Targeting AGT, which is being developed for the treatment of hypertension, is currently in the IND application preparation stage.

AGT is the Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone System（RAAS）The most upstream precursor,AGT in the bloodstream primarily originates from the liver.Inhibition of AGT production can effectively block the RAAS system and regulate blood pressure. Preclinical study results show that SNK-2726 can deeply inhibit the synthesis of AGT in the liver, with a long-lasting effect, leading to a sustained reduction in AGT protein, ultimately resulting in blood pressure reduction.

According to the cooperation agreement, the two parties will jointly advance the development of SNK-2726 to a certain stage, while,Huadong Medicine will obtain an exclusive option and can pay the exercise fee in the future to acquire the exclusive rights for the development, registration, production, and commercialization of SNK-2726 in Greater China.After the exercise of rights by Huadong Medicine, Synerk will also be entitled to subsequent R&D milestone payments and sales milestone payments, as well as tiered royalties based on net sales after commercialization.

It is worth mentioning that this is not the first collaboration Huadong Medicine has reached regarding siRNA drugs. In November 2023, Huadong Medicine had already entered into a strategic cooperation with SANEGENEBIO. Both parties will collaborate based on SANEGENEBIO's innovative LEAD (Ligand and Enhancer Assisted Delivery) technology platform.Jointly Develop siRNA Drugs for Chronic Metabolic Diseases, and further explore cooperation opportunities for developing novel siRNA drugs in other therapeutic areas.
