Recently, Kidney International Reports (IF: 5.7/Q1), a prestigious journal in the field of nephrology, published online the Phase III clinical study data of Pegmoceptin Injection (brand name: Shenluer) conducted in non-dialysis renal anemia patients, led by Professor Xueqing Yu from Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital.

Pegmoxalis is currently the world's only approved and marketed EPO mimetic peptide. The phase III pivotal clinical trial results for dialysis patients with renal anemia were published in October 2023 in The Lancet's subsidiary journal, eClinicalMedicine. The study demonstrated that once-monthly subcutaneous injection of Pegmoxalis for treating anemia in Chinese dialysis patients was non-inferior in efficacy to conventional weekly 1-3 times treatment with epoetin alfa, and even showed a trend toward superiority, with comparable safety.

The phase III clinical study on the treatment of non-dialysis CKD anemia patients with Roxadustat, published in Kidney International Reports this time, shows that in Chinese non-dialysis renal anemia patients, subcutaneous injection of Pegmoceptin once every 4 weeks can achieve the same efficacy as conventional Epoetin Alfa, with a lower incidence of cardiovascular adverse events, which will provide strong support for the application of Pegmoceptin in non-dialysis CKD anemia patients.
