【Pharmaceutical Network Industry DynamicsAccording to relevant data statistics, in December 2024, the global biopharmaceutical field completed no less than 175 financing activities, with a total publicly disclosed financing amount exceeding $3.8 billion. Among them, more than 20 companies focused on developing innovative drugs completed single financings surpassing the $50 million mark. These include China-based AusperBio.

On December 27, AusperBio announced the completion of a $73 million Series B financing round. The proceeds from this round will primarily be used to advance the China and international clinical trials of its core small nucleic acid innovative drug, AHB-137, as well as preparations for early commercialization. Additionally, the funds will support the expansion of the company’s new R&D pipeline and the ongoing development and growth of the team. Relevant personnel from AusperBio stated that AHB-137, as the core drug from our self-innovated Med-Oligo™ platform, garnered significant attention and positive evaluations from the international clinical and academic communities following the release of interim data from the Phase IIa trial at the AASLD conference in November.

Public information shows that AusperBio focuses on the functional cure of chronic hepatitis B (HBV) and the development of highly targeted therapies for liver diseases, while also expanding into targeted small nucleic acid treatments for new targets beyond the liver. AHB-137 Injection, a non-conjugated antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) drug developed by the company with the potential for a "functional cure" of hepatitis B, has been designated as a breakthrough therapy by China's NMPA and is currently in Phase 2 clinical trials. Preclinical studies have demonstrated its ability to induce the degradation of all HBV RNA and significantly reduce HBsAg levels.
