On December 31, AusperBio announced the completion of a nearly 50 million USD Pre-A round of financing. This round was led by Panacea Venture (Panacea Healthcare) and Shanghai Biomedical Fund, with continued support from existing shareholder HLC (Hillhouse Capital), and participation from multiple well-known investment institutions including Everjoy Fortune, Wanwu Ventures, Delian Capital, and Legend Star.
This round of financing will be used to advance Orange Sails Pharma's innovative drug pipeline, accelerate core R&D projects into the clinical development stage, and focus on developing differentiated innovative therapeutic solutions for areas such as oncology and autoimmune diseases.
Ruifeng Biosciences Completes Hundreds of Millions in Financing to Advance Gene Editing Innovative Drug Development
On December 30, Refine Bio announced the successful completion of a new round of financing worth hundreds of millions of RMB. This round was led by Guangzhou Industrial Investment, with participation from Guangzhou Finance Holdings, Kejin Holdings, and existing shareholder GZYY Capital, among other institutions.
The funds from this financing will be mainly used to advance Ruifeng Biologics' gene-editing drug clinical trials, subsequent R&D pipeline expansion, and core technology innovation.
AusperBio Completes $73 Million Series B Financing to Accelerate Global Development of Hepatitis B Cure AHB-137
On December 27, AusperBio, an innovative drug research and development company in the small nucleic acid field, announced the completion of a $73 million Series B financing round. This round was led by Hanking Capital, with participation from Sherpa Healthcare Partners, CDH VGC, and a globally renowned industrial investment institution. On December 25, Huahai Pharmaceutical announced that its subsidiary, Huao Tai Bio (AusperBio), had completed a 200 million yuan financing round, exclusively invested by Haizheng Venture Capital.
The repurchase clause reveals Huaotai Bio's operational goals for the next 3-5 years, including obtaining approval for one product within 3 years, initiating pivotal Phase III clinical trials for another product, advancing a third product into Phase II/III clinical trials, securing approval for two products within 5 years, advancing two more products into Phase II/III clinical trials, and achieving an IPO within the agreed timeframe.
Yiming Biotech Completes Nearly 200 Million Yuan in New Strategic Financing to Support Commercial Production of ATMPs CDMO
On December 24, Yiming Biotech announced the successful completion of a new round of strategic financing worth nearly 200 million RMB. This round of financing was jointly invested by the Beijing Changping Industrial Development Investment Fund and the Beijing Medical and Health Industry Investment Fund, marking another round of financing for Yiming Biotech after the C+ round in April 2023.
This round of financing will be used to further support the construction of Yimeng Bio's ATMPs CDMO commercial production base, promote technological iteration, enhance the service capabilities of the CDMO global service network, strengthen the company’s core competitiveness in the ATMPs drug technology sector, and build a comprehensive CDMO service platform from preclinical research, product development to commercial production.
Innovent Biologics to Merge with Ikena in Reverse to Develop OX40-Targeted Innovative Drug, Raising $75 Million
On December 23, Nasdaq biopharmaceutical company Ikena Oncology (IKNA.US) and Inmagene announced that they have entered into a definitive merger agreement. Inmagene will be acquired by Ikena through a reverse merger. This merger will generate $175 million in proceeds, including a $75 million oversubscribed PIPE financing. Ikena has reached subscription agreements with new investors such as Deep Track Capital, Foresite Capital, and RTW Investments. Additionally, Ikena's existing shareholders, including BVF Partners LP, Blue Owl Healthcare Opportunities, Omega Funds, and OrbiMed, also participated in this PIPE investment.
The merged company will focus on developing the monoclonal antibody (mAb) IMG-007 targeting OX40 for the treatment of atopic dermatitis. The merged company plans to operate under the name "ImageneBio" and trade on NASDAQ under the ticker symbol “IMA”.
