On January 7, PostEra announced the expansion of its partnership with Pfizer, under which the two parties will launch a new collaboration in ADC. According to the agreement, PostEra will receive a $12 million upfront payment, with the total deal amounting to up to $350 million.Both parties will use PostEra's AI platform, Proton, to advance multiple projects. These new projects include small molecule drugs and ADC drugs, with PostEra utilizing the Proton platform to optimize payloads.PostEra was founded in 2019 with the aim of leveraging its advancements in machine learning (ML) to revolutionize the design-make-test cycle in medicinal chemistry and bring more treatment options to patients.Over the past three years, PostEra and Pfizer have closely collaborated under the framework of an AI lab to advance multiple small molecule projects. After nominating a large number of projects, Pfizer agreed to expand the collaboration to more targets, leading to this latest cooperation.On January 11, 2022, PostEra announced the expansion of its existing strategic partnership with Pfizer, with a potential value exceeding $260 million. The expanded multi-target research initiative will establish an AI lab, where PostEra and Pfizer will jointly advance multiple drug discovery programs, initially focusing on oncology and COVID-19 antiviral therapies. The AI lab will leverage novel medicinal chemistry ML based on Pfizer's data, as well as PostEra’s pioneering innovations in generative chemistry and synthesis-aware design.On the same day (January 11, 2022), PostEra announced the completion of a $24 million Series A financing round. The new funds will enable PostEra to further expand its collaborative drug discovery programs, initiate internal drug discovery programs, and further develop its AI-first medicinal chemistry platform.In May 2022, PostEra announced a long-term collaboration with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to develop small-molecule antiviral therapies, with PostEra receiving an initial funding of $68 million from the NIH.
