AboutIDRx
IDRx is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing precision cancer therapies. It is committed to researching and developing drugs that target major cancer drivers and block pathways through which cancer cells evade treatment. Its products include the small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitors IDRX-42 and IDRX-73, which aim to inhibit key gene drivers and drug-resistant mutations in gastrointestinal stromal tumors. IDRx is developing an experimental drug for gastrointestinal stromal tumors. In August 2024, the company announced the completion of a $120 million Series B financing. The proceeds from this financing will primarily be used to support the Phase I/Ib clinical study of its lead candidate product IDRx-42, as well as the anticipated initiation of the first pivotal study in second-line gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) patients.IDRx-42 is an orally administeredPotent and Highly Selective KIT Inhibitor, for the treatment of all types (activation and resistance) of GIST patients with KIT mutations. Preliminary Phase I data show that IDRx-42 achieved an objective response rate of 23% in all treated patients and 43% in second-line patients, which can be considered to have "best-in-class" potential for treating GIST.Summary
In recent years, GSK has been striving to expand its oncology business, including deals with Hansoh Pharma and Sierra Oncology. These efforts have started to pay off, with higher-than-expected sales of its myeloid blood cancer drug Ojjaara, while another blood cancer drug, Blenrep, has also shown positive results. GSK is seeking to restart sales of Blenrep, which had exited the market, and expects its annual sales potential to exceed £3 billion (approximately $3.7 billion).
