From January 13 to 16 U.S. time, the annual J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference was held in San Francisco.
As the top event in the pharmaceuticals industry, the conference gathers global healthcare companies, pharmaceutical enterprises, investors, and media. Several significant deals and collaborations are announced during the meeting.
On the first day of the conference, AI chip giantNVIDIAAnnounce withIQVIA, Illumina, Mayo ClinicAnd has launched cooperation with multiple medical institutions to accelerate the application of artificial intelligence technology in the healthcare industry.
NVIDIA announced in its press release: "The collaboration accelerates drug discovery, enhances genomic research, and leverages proxy and generative AI to create advanced healthcare services."Transforming the $10 trillion healthcare and life sciences industry.
IQVIA: AI + Model Development
In collaboration with IQVIA, a leading clinical CRO, IQVIA will use NVIDIA AI Foundry services to build custom foundational models on its over 64 PB of data, accelerating research, clinical development, and new therapies.
Illumina: AI + Genomics
Illumina, a gene sequencing company, partners with NVIDIA to accelerate advancements in clinical research, genomic AI development, and drug discovery.
Illumina to Provide NVIDIA Accelerated Computing-Based DRAGEN Analysis Software in the Illumina Connected Analytics Platform. This integration aims to expand the accessibility of DRAGEN to anywhere in the world where NVIDIA computing platforms are located.
Illumina Utilizes NVIDIA Accelerated Computing and AI Toolsets for Its Multi-Omics Analysis Software and Workflows. The Two Parties Also Plan to Develop New Biological Foundation Models and Advance Multi-Omics Data Analysis on the Illumina Connected Analytics Platform.
Mayo Clinic: AI + Pathology
Mayo ClinicThe institution is one of the top non-profit private hospitals in the United States. Currently, its digital pathology platform has accumulated a rich dataset, containing 20 million whole-slide images and 10 million related patient records.
In this collaboration, Mayo Clinic and NVIDIA are strengthening the development of next-generation pathology foundational models. Mayo Clinic will deploy NVIDIA's DGX™ Blackwell system, as well as the healthcare imaging platform MONAI.
This model is expected to serve as the cornerstone for future AI applications in drug discovery, personalized diagnosis, and treatment. Meanwhile, the two parties will expand their collaboration through language models and Nvidia NIM to provide personalized healthcare and improve the accuracy of medical predictions.
Arc Institute: AI + Biology
Arc InstitUTE is a non-profit research organization. The institution, founded by Silicon Valley billionaire Patrick Collison and his fiancée, aims to advance complex diseases such as neurodegeneration, cancer, and immune dysfunction.
Arc Institute is collaborating with NVIDIA to develop and share powerful AI models and tools to advance biomedical discoveries.
Researchers in biology and machine learning at Arc are collaborating with engineers from NVIDIA to expand the potential of foundational models in biology, which can generalize across different modalities such as DNA, RNA, and proteins, advancing applications in drug discovery, synthetic biology across various levels of complexity, disease research, and evolutionary studies.
As part of the collaboration, NVIDIA is providing Arc Institute with expertise in large-scale model development; the NVIDIA BioNeMo platform, optimized and easy-to-use training available on NVIDIA DGX Cloud; and NVIDIA NIM microservices and blueprints.
