Gelonghui February 5 | Amgen, Inc. announced its fourth-quarter results, with revenue increasing by 11% year-over-year to $9.1 billion, surpassing analysts' expectations of $8.52 billion; adjusted earnings per share were $5.31, higher than the expected $5.08. Product sales during the period grew by 11%, with products including Repatha, Blincyto, and Tezspire all achieving at least double-digit sales growth.

Additionally, Amgen stated that it will begin late-stage research on its leading obesity candidate drug, MariTide, before the middle of this year, with trial data expected to be released in the second half of the year. Previously, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) had placed a hold on a Phase 1 clinical study of a drug named AMG 513 in obese patients to protect trial participants from unreasonable risks and ensure the proper conduct of the study. Amgen mentioned that it is currently discussing pathways to restart this study.

Looking ahead to 2025, Amgen, Inc. expects adjusted earnings per share to be between $20 and $21.2, with revenue ranging from $34.4 billion to $35.7 billion. Analysts are forecasting $20.82 per share and $33 billion in revenue.
