According to reports, Dr. Chen Dong, Vice President of Global Business Development (BD) at Hengrui Pharma and Head of BD in China, has officially left Hengrui Pharma and joined AbbVie.

Chen Dong joined Hengrui Pharma in December 2017, serving as the head of China Business Development, responsible for product licensing, joint ventures, and acquisitions of global partnerships. He was also in charge of Hengrui Pharma's existing alliance partnerships and new product pricing strategies.

Since February 2023,Chen DongLead Hengrui Pharma's business development team in China, focusing on search evaluation, due diligence, deal negotiation, and alliance management for global collaborations. Drive the company’s strategic partnerships in China and globally, supporting the formulation and implementation of Hengrui's global strategy.

Chen Dong graduated from the Life Sciences program at Wuhan University and obtained his Ph.D. from Yale University. Additionally, he received professional training related to the pharmaceutical industry through the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) and Yale University's graduate program in pharmaceutical sciences.

After joining AbbVie, Chen Dong's addition is believed to inject new momentum into AbbVie's further development in the Chinese market.
