Chronic Disease Medical Device and Therapy Developer
On November 23, 2024, the annual grand event "MJ Elite Gathering," initiated by former elites from the two giants of the medical device industry, Johnson & Johnson and Medtronic, was held at the Hyatt Hotel in Shanghai Global Harbor. The conference attracted more than 160 leading figures and senior professionals from the medical device industry who had previously worked at Johnson & Johnson and Medtronic. Focusing not only on the cutting-edge trends of the industry, the event also became a timeless "Friends Reunion" - medical professionals from all over gathered to reconnect, discuss cooperation, and inject new vitality into the future development of China's medical industry through the exchange of ideas and friendly interactions.
As an annual event with profound sentiments in the medical industry, MJ Elite Gathering has attracted significant attention from the sector since its preparation, and it also carries the mission of "connecting friendships." Early on the day of the event, the registration area was filled with laughter and joy, as many old colleagues who had worked together for years warmly embraced each other, overwhelmed with emotions.
Simon Li (Bing Rong Li), the founder of MJ Elite Gathering and the chairman of the conference, expressed emotionally in his opening speech: "Through the MJ Elite Gathering platform, we hope to give everyone a chance to reunite, reminisce about the past, recall the moments from those years, and share our stories and experiences with each other. More importantly, we hope that through this connection and interaction, we can inspire each other, grow together, interweave the friendships of the past with today's wisdom, jointly promote the progress and development of the industry, and write a new chapter for the industry."
Simon has nearly 50 years of extensive experience and outstanding achievements in the medical device industry, and he is the former leader of many of us here. He once served as the Chairman of Johnson & Johnson Medical, later as the President of Greater China and International Vice President of North Asia. From 2006 to 2013, Simon served as the President of Greater China and International Vice President of Medtronic.
His opening remarks and closing speech once again inspired passion and excitement among the audience. He also encouraged everyone to remain true to their original aspirations, continuously build core competitiveness, enhance leadership, and strive for ongoing progress and development.
In the morning keynote speech session, Mr. Liu Jie, Chairman of Shenzhen Micom Medical Technology, shared with everyone the practical experience of local enterprises from technological breakthrough to brand rise, and from focusing on China to going global, with the theme of "The Growth Path of China-produced Devices"; Mr. Wang Jian, CEO of Ruiqiao Dingke, shared with everyone thoughts on the implementation of innovation and integration models in medical device enterprises under the theme of "Thoughts on the Implementation of Innovation and Integration Models in Medical Device Enterprises," emphasizing that the industry should do difficult but correct things in the context of overlapping industry and capital factors, as medical devices enter the 'integration cycle' to achieve ecosystem win-win.
In the global agenda, Dr. Shurong Li, Honorary Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and President of the Greater Bay Area Medical Technology Association, provided an in-depth introduction to the new normal and emerging trends in the medical device field in China and the Asia-Pacific region. That evening, the "MJ Elite Gathering Banquet" commenced in the brilliantly lit 7th-floor banquet hall.
At this wonderful moment, three old colleagues, Liu Wei, Shen Wangyang, and Bao Feng, shared their own stories with MJ, allowing everyone to relive those passionate and highly rewarding wonderful years.

The organizing committee of the conference raised a toast to thank all the conference volunteers, sponsors, and participating guests. Amidst the clinking of glasses, old friends and new acquaintances talked and drank heartily late into the night. Many guests joked, "This banquet is not only a gathering filled with nostalgia but also a starting point for the future."
At the end of the event, several attendees expressed that the unique value of MJ Elite Gathering lies in "the coexistence of professionalism and warmth." It not only provides direction for the industry through the sharing of top-tier think tanks but also unites people with deep bonds of camaraderie. The future of the medical industry requires both hardcore technology and a soft ecosystem – MJ Elite Gathering is building such a platform.

In the future, MJ Elite Gathering will continue to build a "think tank + emotional community" dual-platform, through forms such as annual summits, thematic seminars, and regional salons, to help Chinese healthcare professionals break boundaries and develop together!
