Gomics Gene Snags ￥10M in Pre-A Round of Financing

According to VCBeat, Gomics Gene Technology Co., Ltd. ("Gomics Gene"), a biotechnology company has recently closed a Pre-A round of financing of tens of millions, which is invested exclusively by the high-tech venture capital subsidiary of Nanjing Jiangbei New Area Science and Technology Investment. This is also the first funding round of Gomics Gene after the successful merger of Gomics and Known Biotech.

Lu Guohua, CEO of Gomics Gene, said the proceeds will be mainly used to accelerate the launch of early detection products (with high sensitivity and specificity) for liver cancers and the registration and declaration of IVD products for liver cancers. At the same time, Gomics Gene will further expand the leading advantage in the early detection database of multiple cancer types (covering the top 10 common cancer types in China) and continue to carry out the research and development of early detection technology for gastrointestinal cancers and gynecological cancers.

Located in Jiangbei New District, Nanjing, Gomics Gene is a high-tech company focusing on tumor epigenetics and large-scale data analysis, covering early screening, companion diagnostic, real-time monitoring, prognosis assessment and others. Currently, it is focusing on the R&D of early detection products for cancer and is expected to launch early detection products for liver cancer early next year. Professor Sun Deqiang, the chief scientist of Gomics Gene, has explored deeply in epigenetics research for more than ten years and has made fruitful results.

Currently, Gomics Gene has cooperated with the many famous hospitals in researches of liver cancer, lung cancer, esophageal cancer, ovarian cancer, and other cancer types. Chief scientist Sun Deqiang said results from research in the field of epigenetics can also be used in the study of the tumor microenvironment, molecular classification of cancer, risk assessment of recurrence and metastasis, guidance of treatment based on drug resistance and epigenetic drug discovery.
