Recently, Abbott announced in an internal email that Fanny Chen, President of Abbott Core Diagnostics China, will retire from Abbott. The successor has been confirmed as Tan Paul (Mingjie Tan), who has been appointed as Abbott's Global Vice President and President of Core Diagnostics China.
Fanny Chen is a seasoned veteran of Abbott, having joined the company in 2001. In 2022, Fanny Chen was appointed as the Vice President of Abbott's Core Diagnostics in China. Her successor, Tan Paul, has extensive work and management experience from several global medical device giants. Before joining Abbott, Tan Paul worked at Guidant VI Division, Boston Scientific, Teleflex, and Molnlycke Health.
Johnson & Johnson
Effective March 1, 2025, Jian Chen will assume the role of Head of Commercial Operations and Innovation Diversity, while also serving as General Manager of Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. Over the past four years, Mr. Chen has achieved remarkable success in the oncology business, with products like Dacogen® and Erleada® experiencing consecutive double-digit growth for multiple years.
At the same time, Johnson & Johnson Innovative Pharmaceutical China appointed Sévan Kaloustian as Vice President and Head of the Oncology Business Unit, who will report to Cherry Huang, President of Johnson & Johnson Innovative Pharmaceutical China. It is reported that Sévan Kaloustian currently serves as the Managing Director of the JENA (Jordan, Egypt, and North Africa) region and has led one of the fastest-growing regions in the emerging markets of Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) since June 2022.
AbbVie
News on February 11: Chen Dong, Head of BD China at Hengrui Medicine, has recently left Hengrui Medicine and joined AbbVie. Chen Dong graduated from Wuhan University with a degree in Life Sciences and later obtained his Ph.D. from Yale University. Additionally, he received professional training related to the pharmaceutical industry at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) and Yale University's pharmaceutical graduate program.
Mr. Chen Dong joined Hengrui Medicine in December 2017. Since February 2023, Chen Dong has been leading the business development team in Hengrui's China region. As the head of Hengrui China's BD team, he aims to promote international cooperation and strategic alliances, significantly enhancing the company’s competitiveness and innovation in the global biopharmaceutical market.
Teleflex
News on February 12: Eric Shan, Managing Director of Teleflex China, announced his resignation for personal reasons, with the last working day being February 28, 2025. Mr. Shan has over 20 years of experience in the medical device industry and has held senior management positions at well-known companies such as Johnson & Johnson and Medtronic. He officially joined Teleflex on July 8, 2024, and is leaving just over half a year after taking the position.
Jinhua Co., Ltd.
On the evening of February 14, listed pharmaceutical company Ginhwa Co., Ltd. announced several personnel adjustments. Specifically, Song Yanping resigned from the position of Vice General Manager due to personal reasons; Shi Zhihua resigned from the position of Employee Representative Supervisor due to personal work adjustment; Sun Ming resigned from the position of Board Secretary due to personal reasons.
According to the needs of the company's operation and management, upon the nomination of the General Manager and after review and approval by the Nomination Committee of the Board of Directors, the Board of Directors has agreed to appoint Shi Zhihua as the Vice General Manager of the company. The term of office will be from the date of approval by the Board of Directors until the expiration of the term of the Tenth Board of Directors. Additionally, Sun Ming has been re-elected as the employee representative supervisor of the Tenth Supervisory Board of the company.
