This program aims to assist uninsured patients or those whose insurance plans do not cover weight-loss medications. This move comes after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced on February 21st that Novo Nordisk's Wegovy and Ozempic were no longer in shortage, a statement that is expected to curb the widespread sale of cheaper generic versions produced by compounding pharmacies.
