It is reported that this base is the first digital medical innovation base established by Medtronic in China.Committed to developing disease management solutions based on artificial intelligence and big data,Will focus on building medical training centers in the fields of cardiovascular, minimally invasive surgery, and neuroscience;Establish a Patient Care Center and introduce digital technology,Improve the service level of patient prevention and management;At the same time, the Medtronic Museum is being built. This innovation base will be officially put into operation by the end of this year.
The pharmaceuticals and healthcare industry is one of the "twin engines" of Beijing's innovative development, and also one of the four leading industries that Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (BDA) focuses on developing. To date, nearly 5,000 pharmaceuticals and healthcare enterprises, covering the entire industrial chain including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and services, have been gathered in BDA, accounting for nearly 50% of the city’s total scale. It is the most concentrated area for the development of pharmaceuticals and healthcare industry in Beijing.In the first quarter of 2025, Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area's biotechnology and large health industry achieved breakthrough progress again, with two Class 1 new drugs and three innovative medical devices approved for marketing, accounting for 62.5% of the city's total approvals in the same period.
BioPark will be planned and built as a global hub for pharmaceutical and health innovation cooperation, an international influential biopharmaceutical industry innovation cluster, the first stop for global pharmaceutical innovation talents to start businesses in China, a national AI-empowered application demonstration zone for the pharmaceutical and health industry, and a "test field" for the implementation of national innovative pharmaceutical policies. The next step,NorthBeijing Economic Development Zone will focus on building a model area for global pharmaceutical innovation and accelerate the construction of the International Pharmaceutical Innovation Park (BioPark).Build platforms for enterprises, universities, research institutes, and research-oriented hospitals to facilitate innovative R&D and the transformation of achievements, accelerating the creation of new drivers for the development of Beijing's pharmaceuticals and healthcare industry.To be the "leader" in digital healthcare,Strengthen the new AI medical infrastructure, accelerate the improvement of institutional innovation for healthcare data, and build an AI application base for the healthcare industry, while exploring a training model for interdisciplinary talent in medical artificial intelligence.As a "pioneer" in the field of cell and gene therapy,Plan the construction of a national stem cell technology innovation center, accelerate the development of platforms such as CDMO for cell and gene therapy, and build a collaborative innovation platform involving government, industry, academia, research, and regulation driven by the demand for innovative products.
