On March 31, in London, Isomorphic Labs, an AI-first drug design and development company, announced that it had raised $600 million in its first round of external financing. The round was led by Thrive Capital, with participation from GV, and follow-on funding from existing investor Alphabet.
Isomorphic Labs was established to leverage the power of artificial intelligence to reimagine and accelerate drug discovery, bringing much-needed treatments to millions of patients worldwide. The company aims to apply its groundbreaking AI-driven drug design engine to achieve biomedical breakthroughs and advance drug design projects across multiple therapeutic areas and drug modalities.。($3 Billion! Since its establishment, the company has developed numerous next-generation artificial intelligence models, which, when combined, form its unified AI drug design engine capable of operating across multiple therapeutic areas and drug modalities. A groundbreaking model is AlphaFold 3, developed byIsomorphic Labs and Google DeepMind jointly developed and released in May 2024, capable of accurately predicting the structure and interactions of all biomolecules. Utilizing these state-of-the-art artificial intelligence technologies,Isomorphic Labs has established a drug discovery portfolio, which includes collaboration projects with pharmaceutical industry leaders Eli Lilly and Novartis, as well as internal projects primarily focused on oncology and immunology.
