AstraZeneca's Trispecific Antibody AZD5492 Granted Clinical Trial Clearance in China for Autoimmune Diseases

Recently, AstraZeneca has made further progress in the field of autoimmune diseases. According to the announcement by the Center for Drug Evaluation (CDE) of the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), its submitted Class 1 new drug AZD5492 has been granted two new clinical trial implied approvals in China, intended for the treatment ofSystemic Lupus Erythematosus, Idiopathic Inflammatory Myopathy。

AZD5492 is a CD20×TCR×CD8 trispecific antibody drug, belonging to a new type of T-cell engager, designed to enhance the therapeutic effect on B-cell malignancies through multi-target synergy. This drug targets relapsed or refractory B-cell related diseases, including B-type non-Hodgkin lymphoma, multiple myeloma, systemic lupus erythematosus, systemic sclerosis, and other autoimmune diseases.
