Novo Nordisk and JD Health Announce Strategic Collaboration to Advance Integrated Digital Solutions for Diabetes and Obesity Management

Beijing, April 21, 2025 – Novo Nordisk, a global leading biopharmaceutical company, and JD Health officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Beijing. This marks a new phase in their collaboration in the fields of diabetes and weight management. Leveraging Novo Nordisk's century-long expertise and innovative treatment solutions in chronic disease management, combined with JD Health’s comprehensive medical service capabilities across all scenarios, the two parties will jointly create a public education zone for obesity, support one-stop diabetes diagnosis and treatment, and fully empower the digital transformation and upgrading of chronic disease management.

Currently, about 140 million adults in China suffer from diabetes, and approximately 180 million adults are obese, with the prevalence continuing to rise. Insufficient public awareness of diabetes and obesity, along with delayed diagnosis and treatment, can lead to more severe complications, imposing a heavy burden on both patients and society. To address the challenges posed by serious chronic diseases, China has listed the "Diabetes Prevention and Control Action" as one of the 15 special actions in the "Healthy China Action (2019-2030)" plan and is continuously advancing the implementation plan of the "Weight Management Year" campaign.
In response to the call of "the country urging you to lose weight," the "Weight Management Knowledge and Service Zone," jointly created by Novo Nordisk and JD Health, has emerged in this context.
