Qujing Hengsheng Raises ¥100M in Pre-A Round of Financing

According to VCBeat, Beijing-based Qujing Hengsheng Science and Technology Co., Ltd. ("Qujing Hengsheng"), a medical device provider specializing in the R&D of cardiovascular and intracavitary imaging technology, announced the completion of the Pre-A round of financing of over 100 million yuan. Proceeds from this round will be used for product production, market expansion and the R&D of next-generation products.


Qujing Hengsheng is affiliated to Hengsheng Medical Group, which is located in Zhongguancun Science Park, Shunyi District, Beijing. Zhao Xusheng, the founder of Hengsheng Medical Group, was the chief representative of the American Optical Laboratory in China and introduced the first optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging system in China. 


Hengyi Medical, another subsidiary of Hengsheng Medical Group, provides products as the "self-perfusion drug-eluting balloon", "self-perfusion ultra-thin fully degradable stent", "drug-eluting stent", "balloon catheter" and other accessories. The coverage of its product line is second only to MicroPort and Lepu Medical in China.


The S1 intravascular imaging system developed by Qujing Hengsheng makes a breakthrough in combining intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and OCT. Its performance is great, and even the single-function technical indicators of the "two-in-one" product have respectively surpassed the imported single-function products. The doctor using a catheter for both IVUS and OCT imaging, which makes it convenient for doctors to choose the best treatment and reduces the risk of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for patients.


The intravascular imaging system has obtained two special green channel approvals of innovation medical instrument from the National Drug Administration. At present, the product has already entered clinical trials, and is expected to complete the China Medical Device Registration, FDA's certification and CE Mark Certification in 2020, and then will go on sale in global. The device is expected to become the world's first intracavitary imaging equipment combining IVUS and OCT.
