Peking University Third Hospital and Weigao Group Launch Joint Nursing Innovation Platform

On the afternoon of April 23, 2025, the establishment ceremony of the Peking University Third Hospital-WEGO Group Nursing Innovation Platform and the academic seminar on medical-engineering cooperation were held at Peking University Third Hospital. Long Jing, President of Weigao Group Co., Ltd., along with group representatives, Fu Wei, President of Peking University Third Hospital, Tang Yida, Vice President, Jiang Xue, Party Committee Deputy Secretary and Director of the Office of Technology Transfer, Tian Yun, Director of the Medical Engineering Department, Li Baohua, Director of the Nursing Department, other deputy directors, head nurses of major departments, and key nursing staff attended the meeting. The conference was chaired by Jiang Xue.

Fu Wei emphasized in his speech that, as an important guarantee for medical quality and safety, the construction and development of the nursing team has always been a key focus of the hospital's work. Peking University Third Hospital and WEGO Group have already established a solid foundation for cooperation in technological innovation. The establishment of this nursing innovation platform marks a new phase in the collaboration between the two parties. This platform aims to build a full-chain technology innovation ecosystem encompassing "idea-conversion-product-optimization," focusing on addressing the critical issues in transforming nursing research achievements into clinical applications. It will promote the research, development, and application of innovative nursing technologies and products, thereby enhancing the level of clinical nursing services.

WEGO Group President Long Jing stated that since the establishment of the joint medical-engineering cooperation R&D center with Peking University Third Hospital in 2021, both parties have made breakthrough progress in fields such as orthopedics, sports medicine, and rehabilitation medicine. Through this collaboration, the two sides will leverage WEGO Group’s complete medical device industry chain and innovation capabilities, combined with the prominent clinical and management advantages of Peking University Third Hospital’s nursing team, to focus on in-depth cooperation in areas like venous access management, wound care, intelligent monitoring systems, application of new biomaterials, and the cultivation of high-end nursing talent. Together, they will advance the development of the nursing discipline.

Li Baohua and Chen Shuai, Director of the R&D Center of WEGO Group, unveiled the "Peking University Third Hospital-WEGO Group Nursing Innovation Platform", marking the full launch of the strategic cooperation between the two parties in the field of nursing innovation.

At the Medical-Engineering Collaboration Academic Seminar, Li Baohua introduced in detail the overall planning and future development direction of the hospital's nursing innovation platform. Chen Shuai elaborated on the R&D team of WEGO and the characteristics of product industrialization. The heads of laboratories under the nursing innovation platform, such as women's health, wound care, and infant care, respectively introduced the organizational structure, disciplinary development direction, scientific research achievements, and future work plans of their laboratories, comprehensively showcasing the research strength and development planning of each laboratory in the field of nursing innovation.

In his concluding remarks, Fu Wei fully affirmed the achievements made by the nursing team in scientific research and innovation. He particularly emphasized that nursing work should always be guided by clinical needs, and service quality should be improved through technological innovation.

The establishment of this nursing innovation platform is an important practice for the hospital to deeply implement the innovation-driven development strategy and promote the high-quality development of the nursing discipline.
