This financing will be mainly used to advance the development of ATSN-201, one of Atsena's leading projects, which is aimed at treating X-linked retinoschisis.(XLRS)XLRS is a hereditary disease that primarily affects males and is usually diagnosed during childhood. It is characterized by abnormal splitting between retinal layers, with progressive vision loss occurring with age, eventually leading to blindness. The proceeds from this financing will also be used to support Atsena’s first-in-class preclinical pipeline therapies and expand the application of Atsena's novel diffusion-type capsid AAV.SPR.
2. Anhui Zhongsheng Traceability Biotechnology Co., Ltd. Completes RMB 235 Million Series B Financing
In April, Anhui Zhongsheng Traceability Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Zhongsheng Traceability") announced that it had received tens of millions of yuan in funding support in its Series B round. The funds will mainly be used to accelerate the development of multiple clinical pipelines in the iPSC-derived cell therapy field by Anhui Zhongsheng Traceability Biotechnology Co., Ltd. and the subsequent commercialization of its products.

3. Rigerna Completes Pre-A Round Financing
On April 7, Rigerna announced the completion of the first closing of its Pre-A round financing. The first phase of this round's fundraising was invested by Jinyifu Xinxin and others. This market-oriented financing will be used to rapidly advance the clinical research of its core product RG002C0106, as well as the continued development of extrahepatic delivery technology and drug pipelines. By building a standardized, large-scale high-quality cell resource platform, the company provides solid technical support for diverse application scenarios, driving the innovation process in cell therapy and anti-aging technology.
6. Nanjing Yuanmai Cell BiotechnologyReceived New Round of Financing
In mid-April, Nanjing Yuanmai Cell Biotechnology Co., Ltd. secured a new round of financing.RigernaFounded by the research team of Shen Pingping from Nanjing University and senior pharmaceutical executives, the company focuses on developing therapeutic technologies for fibrotic diseases and solid tumors, aiming to address unmet clinical needs. It has established four core technology platforms with independent intellectual property rights: a high-throughput screening system for anti-fibrotic payloads, a CAR functional module library, an in vitro gene editing system, and an in vivo gene editing delivery system. Through its in vivo gene editing delivery technology, Yuanmai Cell is advancing macrophage engineering from ex vivo transfection to in vivo editing, marking a transition from cell therapy to biopharmaceuticals. Its project targeting liver fibrosis is currently undergoing investigator-initiated clinical trials (IIT).

Since April 2025, this series of financing events in the CGT field, from the breakthrough of ophthalmic gene therapy in treating rare diseases to the accelerated commercialization process of iPSC-derived cell therapy; from innovations in targeted delivery technology enhancing drug efficacy to the exploration of personalized cell therapy for new anti-aging directions.
