May 9, 2025, SAN DIEGO & SHANGHAI — Sirius Therapeutics today announced the successful completion of a nearly US$50 million Series B2 financing round to accelerate the clinical development of its novel small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapies for cardiometabolic diseases and to further innovate its next-generation RNA delivery technology. This round of financing was led by a globally renowned industry investment institution, with participation from BioTrack Capital, as well as existing investors OrbiMed, Hongyuan Capital, and H&Q Healthcare.



Dr. Qunsheng Ji, CEO of Sirius Therapeutics, stated:"The successful completion of this round of financing is a full recognition by both new and existing investors of the progress we have made so far and our future strategy. The proceeds will be used to further advance the clinical pipeline and enrich the product pipeline, with the aim of accelerating the development of disruptive siRNA therapies for chronic disease prevention and treatment, benefiting patients worldwide."



Dr. Ji added that the company has currently developed three clinical-stage projects and multiple preclinical product pipelines. Among them, SRSD107, the new-generation long-acting anticoagulant therapy for treating and preventing thromboembolic diseases, is the most advanced and has submitted a Phase II clinical trial application in Europe to the European Medicines Agency (EMA). The novel siRNA therapy SRSD216 targeting elevated lipoprotein(a) has received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) and is currently undergoing Phase I clinical trials. Another siRNA therapy for hyperlipidemia, SRSD101, is also steadily advancing in its clinical development within China.


Sirius Therapeutics has currently entered the clinical development stage with products including SRSD107 for the treatment of thromboembolic diseases, SRSD216 for high lipoprotein(a), and SRSD101 for dyslipidemia.
