On May 9, the 2025 VBEF Future Healthcare 100 Strong Conference was held in Suzhou. The 2025 Future Healthcare 100 Strong List (referred to as: VBEF) and the Growth Report of the Top 100 Enterprises released at the conference recorded a year of innovation and breakthroughs in the biotechnology field.Xbiome Wins Two Major Awards: Xbiome's Star Patent Strain XA-1416 and NeoBiome® Lightweight Bacteria Compound Lactobacillus Powder Receive Best Biotechnology Innovation Product Award; The Company Has Been Listed in VBEF China Innovative Pharmaceuticals and Biologics TOP100 for Seven Consecutive Years.

NeoBiome® is Xbiome's proprietary probiotic brand. The "Light Body Bacteria" multi-strain lactic acid bacteria product utilizes Xbiome's self-developed patented functional strain: Lactobacillus salivarius XA-1416.The latter is an innovative functional strain that can help improve obesity issues. It originates from the gut of healthy Chinese adults and is one of Xbiome's self-developed star strains. Based on a pharmaceutical-grade R&D platform, Xbiome has conducted mechanism studies around XA-1416, including regulating the ratio of obesity-prone to lean-prone bacteria, promoting cholesterol breakdown and excretion, inhibiting fat cell accumulation and differentiation, and increasing GLP-1 and PP hormone levels. These efforts have yielded excellent data, with research findings gradually published in authoritative journals.
In a 3-month real-world population trial, 40 volunteers who did not change their dietary and exercise habits experienced an average reduction of 3.12 cm in waist circumference, 1.33 cm in hip circumference, and 1.42 kg in body fat after continuously using XA-1416. Visceral fat significantly decreased while muscle mass remained unaffected. The rigorous, scientifically evidence-based mechanism research, along with the real effects of fat reduction without muscle loss and reducing rebound common in traditional weight loss methods, has led to XA-1416 recently being officially granted a national invention patent. Currently, several leading food and probiotics companies in and outside of China have reached commercial cooperation agreements with Xbiome regarding Lactobacillus salivarius XA-1416.

In 2024, the National Health Commission of China, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the General Administration of Sport, and 16 other departments, officially launched the "Weight Management Year" special campaign. This initiative aims to address the issue of overweight and obesity among the Chinese population and reduce the risk of chronic diseases; "Fat reduction and weight loss" has officially become a national strategy. The discovery of Lactobacillus salivarius XA-1416 represents a significant breakthrough in microbiome research within the field of metabolic diseases. This strain, hailed by Xinhua News Agency and Outlook Oriental Weekly as a representative of "China's bacteria," also successfully claimed a major award at VBEF.

The 2025 Future Healthcare 100 Strong Enterprises list is open to non-listed companies in the medical and health field for selection. Through processes such as independent application, review committee evaluation, cross-review by supporting organizations, and final review by the expert committee, the top 100 innovative companies by valuation are selected from four major fields including innovative pharmaceuticals and biologics. The judging panel evaluates the valuation of the surveyed companies, as well as their growth and annual performance in four key indicators: human resources, knowledge resources, important partner resources, and market performance.
According to reports, the list of innovative pharmaceuticals and biologics has seen the most significant changes this year. Currently, China's pharmaceutical industry is undergoing structural reform, which is bringing new growth opportunities while also presenting substantial challenges.Xbiome persists in conducting fundamental research on human intestinal microbiota, obtaining the qualification of Guangdong Provincial Engineering Technology Research Center, and participating in national key scientific and technological projects; advancing the microbiome drug pipeline related to cancer, and successfully achieving commercialization in fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT), probiotics R&D, etc., transforming cutting-edge science and technology into widely accessible health products and solutions.

With the above achievements, amidst a complex international environment and profound industry transformation, Xbiome has been ranked in the TOP100 of the 2025 Future Healthcare 100 Strong: China Innovative Pharmaceuticals and Bioproducts List for the seventh consecutive year.
