Recently,At DP Technology2025At the Developer Conference,DP Technology and Geely Automobile Announce the Establishment of a "New Energy + AI" Joint Laboratory, Both parties have introduced the "AI + molecular simulation" technology system in the biopharmaceutical field into the research and development of power batteries for the first time, marking the official entry of global power battery technology into a new phase of "atomic-level precision R&D." Wan Dong, Minister of the Energy Control Department at Geely Automobile Research Institute, and Wang Xiaoxu, Vice President of Intelligent R&D at DP Technology, signed the agreement on stage. Zhang Dewang, Director of the New Energy Center at Geely Automobile Research Institute, and Li Qin, Partner and Senior Vice President at DP Technology, witnessed this important moment.
The laboratory focuses on three major fields: cloud-based battery digital twins, AI proxy models, and intelligent R&D of new battery materials. Relying on Geely's self-developed large model matrix and DP Technology’s "AI for Science" technology matrix, the two parties will create a new paradigm for "targeted drug-level" R&D of power batteries.
At the same time, three major innovation systems will be built: the cloud-based battery digital twin system acts like a "virtual CT scanner," capable of precisely identifying the microscopic evolution of physical and chemical processes inside the battery; the AI proxy model plays the role of an "intelligent doctor," quickly warning of battery safety risks; and the intelligent R&D platform for battery new materials functions as a "molecular operating table," customizing electrode materials at the atomic level. This "virtual lab + physical manufacturing" double helix innovation model will greatly enhance R&D efficiency as well as the stability and safety of power batteries.
