As a leading brain-computer interface technology company in China, BrainCo has always adhered to the R&D philosophy of "Technology for Good" since its establishment. Its first product was a smart bionic hand that changed the lives of people with limb disabilities. Through advanced super sensors and self-developed AI algorithms, users can achieve precise control of each finger with natural thoughts, completing daily tasks such as writing, twisting bottle caps, and using mobile phones, regaining the ability to live independently. In the future, BrainCo will continue to upgrade product performance by integrating multi-dimensional tactile perception functions, allowing users not only to control prosthetics but also to perceive the external environment, further enhancing their quality of life. In addition to the torch relay and the lighting of the main torch at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Para Games, BrainCo’s products have also frequently appeared in major events such as the torch relay at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, giving people with disabilities hope brought by technology.

In recent years, BrainCo has actively explored diversified technology-assisted disability support models, striving to make advanced technologies benefit more people in need. The company has participated in and supported numerous public welfare projects, such as being deeply involved in the "Technology Lights Up Dreams, Let Love Become Strength" public welfare project for physically disabled individuals in Zhejiang Province initiated by the Zhejiang Provincial Disabled Persons Welfare Foundation under the guidance of the Zhejiang Provincial Development and Reform Commission and the provincial Disabled Persons Federation. This project received financial support from companies like Zhejiang Energy Group, Alibaba, and Leapmotor, and has helped over 300 physically disabled individuals in Zhejiang Province receive free installations of smart prosthetics. The company has also partnered with Beijing Aier Charity Foundation's "Little Planet Charity Fund" and the Cherish Life Foundation to expand smart prosthetic support to broader regions.

The following isBeneficiary Case Studies from Zhejiang Province's Technology-Assisted Public Welfare Project for People with Limb Disabilities:

"Mountain Climbing Expert" Han Shixiong

At the age of 5, Han Shixiong's right leg was broken by a large truck. Last July, after being fitted with a BrainCo smart bionic knee joint, he embarked on his "Grand Slam" mountain climbing journey fueled by his passion for hiking. The sea of clouds at Mount Huangshan witnessed his first touch of the peak at an altitude of 1,864 meters with a smart prosthesis, and the 99 Heavenly Steps of Jiuhua Mountain recorded his steadier pace than that of able-bodied individuals. "The shock absorption system of the smart prosthesis makes going downhill easier than uphill," Han Shixiong said. "Previously, because of my leg disability, I was too embarrassed to expose it, even wearing long pants in the heat of Hangzhou. However, the technological feel of the smart prosthesis makes me feel powerful and confident when wearing shorts and showing it off."

"World Champion" Cai Yuqingyan

On China's National Day in 1997, Cai Yuqingyan, who was 27 months old at the time, had her leg amputated after a car accident. Later, through relentless self-improvement, she became a professional athlete and won double championships in swimming and kayaking. After being fitted with a prosthetic limb, she smiled and said, "Before, when I held a child, my family would worry a bit. The stability of this prosthetic is very strong." During training, she also discovered an unexpected benefit: "When wearing the prosthesis to train for strength, I can exercise the small muscle groups on the side that didn't have the prosthesis before." At the same time, she is the chairperson of the Lishui Limb Disability Association. She said, "From policy support to societal care, society shows immense concern for our disabled community. But how we make our own group stronger and more self-reliant, and let our group shine, requires the association to build a bridge and act as a good link."

"Barista" Zheng Rong

Zheng Rong was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in the second year of junior high school and underwent an amputation surgery the following year. In the past, she only wanted to find jobs that didn’t require going out, such as being a Taobao customer service representative, because she was afraid of passersby "staring" at her legs and hearing children ask their mothers, "Why doesn't this sister have legs?" After being fitted with a smart prosthetic limb, she felt her mindset had changed. "The design of this prosthetic is very stylish. When I wear it, I feel really cool, like I want to put on a short skirt and take street photos." Later, she became a barista at a charity café. Just two months after entering the industry, she participated in a barista competition. This job gave her a sense of accomplishment, and in the future, she hopes to own her dream coffee shop.

"Slash Youth" Li Binhao

After being diagnosed with bone cancer in the first grade of elementary school, Li Binhao had no choice but to undergo amputation. The strong and optimistic boy has used five prosthetics during his growth, from traditional ones to BrainCo's intelligent bionic knee joint. His biggest takeaway is that movement has become much safer and more comfortable for his body. Now, he has developed a good habit of working out regularly and hopes to take the postgraduate entrance exam to study in Beijing, continuing to pursue his dreams.
